Cyted is seeking an exceptional Frontend Engineer to join our team. The Frontend Engineer will support the development of new systems providing medical insights and managing diagnostic workflows. Technologies include unique new machine learning technology, highly robust and scalable online services and web applications. A main responsibility is working the software teams to build responsive and highly performant user interfaces with a relentless focus on user experience and accessibility. This includes but is not limited to building frontends, implementing automated testing, user engagement, product, and design. The Frontend Engineer will be part of a team responsible for developing and maintaining our mission-critical diagnostics platform.

Responsibilities:

• Building reusable code and libraries for future use
• Designing and delivering new platform capabilities
• Ensuring user flows are covered by automated tests
• Work with Product & Design teams to tackle UI/UX challenges
• Setting standards for frontend architecture
• Taking part in Agile and Continuous Improvement processes

Working pattern, location and salary:

The role is a full-time position with a standard 37.5 hour working week. The role holder may be required to work flexibly.

The Frontend Engineer will be based at the Cyted’s Head Office, WeWork, 50-60 Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JH. The Frontend Engineer may need to visit other company sites when and if required.

Qualifications and background:

• Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Experience:

• Experience working with GraphQL and RESTful APIs
• Collaboration and version control using Git
• Experience of modern frontend test tooling in a CI/CD environment. (Unit testing, browser testing)
• Experience of using strongly typed languages (e.g. Typescript)
• Experience building single page applications using React

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Excellent attention to detail when designing and implementing UI components
• Experience using a modern web-application language e.g JavaScript or Typescript
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Self-starter capable of planning and shaping the architecture of our backend services, and interested in expanding your skills
• Can work independently to move projects forward
• Knowledge or experience working with medical services or products (desirable)
