Cyted is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Business Administration Team as an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant will play a vital role within the Business Administration team which manages Finance, HR and Projects for the company. The role holder will provide support for the Senior Director and Administrative Coordinator and must be used to handling confidential data and information. They must be a highly organised individual with a good working knowledge of Office products but with the ability to also learn new software. This is an extremely varied role and the Administrative Assistant will have to manage numerous responsibilities in a proactive manner. They must be able to juggle multiple projects, calmly and confidently whilst demonstrating an outstanding attention to detail. The role holder must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and must be confident communicating with individuals at all levels. They will be required to provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.


  • General administrative tasks associated with the efficient and effective completion of day-to-day team workload.
  • Creation of documentation either from templates or writing first drafts for review.
  • Assist with financial document processing (invoice, bill payment, banking forms)
  • Diary management and appointment bookings, particularly in relation to recruitment processes.
  • Assist with the recruitment process for Cyted and group companies.
  • Participate in HR projects such as writing policies and procedures.
  • Helping to build and streamline our processes and procedures to maximise efficiencies
  • Assistance with project management tasks such as co-ordination with our research partners and gathering documentation to meet project deadlines.
  • Contribute to the culture of our inclusive and enthusiastic team

Working pattern, location and salary:

The role is a full-time position with a standard 37.5 hour working week. The role holder may be required to work flexibly.

The Administrative Coordinator will be based at the Cyted’s Head Office, WeWork, 50-60 Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JH. The Administrative Assistant may need to visit other company sites when and if required.

Salary in the range of £22,000 to £28,000 per annum depending on skills and experience.

Job requirements

Qualifications and background:

  • GCSE (grade C and above) in Maths and English
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience eg NVQ Level 2 in Administration.


  • More than 3 years administrative experience in an office environment
  • Working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Creation of complex spreadsheets
  • Working with multiple parties to edit and refine complex word documents
  • Creation of PowerPoint presentations
  • Diary management and appointment bookings (desirable)
  • Processing financial documentation (eg invoices) and use of financial systems (desirable)
  • An understanding of recruitment processes (desirable)
